Lori Goulart

Lori Goulart has been working for the San Diego Unified School District since 1983. She started working as a School Bus Driver and worked for the Transportation Department. During the 19 years working with Transportation she worked in Scheduling, Field Trips and as an Information Clerk.

Ms. Goulart has been an Education Specialist since April of 2002. Also in 2002 she received her Elementary Teaching Credential, Mild/Moderate Credential along with a Master in Special Education. She started at Scripps Ranch High in April of 2002 teaching Algebra, Geometry and US Government.

In September of 2002 she started teaching at Riley School. During the next 16 years she taught grades 3-9, worked on starting a school garden and developing a classroom with many different types of reptiles. The school garden received two awards for harvesting 82 and 87 pounds of produce for the garden to café program. The reptiles included, turtles, ball python, crested geckos, leopard geckos, rosy boas, which have produced many clutches, bearded dragons, and recently added two king snakes to the diverse group. Three groups of breaded dragon clutches have produce 10 bearded dragon babies that have been donated to good homes.

In September of 2017 she started teaching at Marcy School and is currently teaching Biology, Integrated Math II, Computers and is working on establishing a brand new school garden for the Marcy school. The garden project is well on its way, with pallet garden boxes and covered garden boxes, benches and soil storage boxes. All garden projects are student driven.

Ms. Goulart has one son named JT, who is an Eagle Scout and currently attends Madison High School in Claremont. Currently she has 35 years with the San Diego Unified School District and is still going strong.
